Weekly Resources
Remember to read every day and to email me after you finish your work. :)
HELP! Baby Nurmi is due in July. We still don’t know if the baby is going to be a boy or a girl. We have been trying to figure out names and can’t seem to agree (especially on a name for a boy). Do you have any suggestions? Thank you to those who have shared their ideas! Throughout the week, post your ideas on Padlet. :) (click link)
Monday, June 1st:

Journal: Write about one of the days from the pictures or another day you remember from third grade.
Brain Break: Go for a walk or a bike ride.

Watch: On Saturday SpaceX launched astronauts into space. There is a lot that goes into launching a spaceship. You do not need to watch the whole video. The countdown occurs at about 52:30. (click link)
NASA Website: Play some games on the NASA Kids’ Club Website. (click link)
Brain Break: Find a family member. Attempt to wheelbarrow race. Anja and I tried this...we didn’t get very far very fast, but we sure laughed a lot!
Tuesday, June 2nd
Math:
REFLEX: Play until you get a full green circle. (click link)
ABCya.com: Play some third grade math games at abcya.com. (click link)
Brain Break: Put on your favorite song and dance to it. Bonus points for using a pretend microphone and singing along!
Science: We were hoping to take a field trip to a zoo this year. Since we can’t go together to see the animals, check out the webcams at the San Diego Zoo. There are a lot of pop-ups looking for donations. Simply click the x in the top right corner of the pop-up. Also, if you are interested in that animal, there will be links under the webcam with more information. (click link)
Brain Break: Go outside and play!
Wednesday, June 3rd: (Remember the FP teachers and staff will be in front of the school to wave goodbye to students and to wish you all a happy summer. Please drive through the bus lane between 5 and 6! We miss you all more than you know and would love to say “goodbye!”)
Reading:
Reading: Go to “Story Time from Space” and pick a story that an astronaut reads. There are a lot of great stories to choose from! (click link)
Padlet: Go to the Padlet and share one of your favorite memories from third grade! If you’re having a hard time remembering, look at the pictures again from Monday. (click link)
Brain Break: Explore your yard. Take your journal with you. Go outside for 10 minutes. Write down all the different sounds you hear. Write down all the different alive things you see. Do you see things moving through the grass?
Social Studies:
Explore: Explore more of NASA’s website for kids. I looked up how long a year is on each planet. I also learned more information about the sun (since we’re seeing more of it!).
Journal: Write about what you explored on NASA’s website. What did you learn? What did you find interesting?
Brain Break: With permission from an adult, do an egg toss or a water balloon toss outside. If you don’t feel like getting messy or wet, use a ball.
Thursday June 4th: Last Day of School!
Email Me: If you haven’t already, watch the slideshow of pictures from Monday. Please send me one last email for the year. I will respond, so don’t forget to check!
